Following the agreement on cooperation in the tourism sector signed by Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin the Minister of Tourism, at the 54th Congress of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in September 2012 in Quito, a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, arrived in Haiti Monday, March 4, 2013. The objective of this visit, which ends on March 8, is, among other, to make contact and ask about the degree of development of tourism in Haiti.

During its stay, the delegation of Ecuador, will visit natural sites, cultural, patrimonial and tourism facilities in Port-au-Prince, Cap Haitien and Jacmel. Working meetings are also planned with the Ministry of Tourism team around some major tourism projects.

The terms of the cooperation agreement between Ecuador and Haiti include :

• The tourism management of natural and cultural heritage of National Historic Park in Cap-Haitien ;

• Certification of tourist destinations ;

• The training of human resources ;

• The support for the development of the tourism legislation in Haiti.
