Haiti - Social : 67th anniversary of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque

Friday, March 1, 2013, members of the Executive andthe friendly alumni have proudly celebrated in the presence of numerous personalities from the town of Petit-Goâve, the 67th anniversary of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque (1946-2013). Speech, folk dance, skit, recitation of poems and songs, marked this day of celebration.

On this occasion, a place of high school students, newly built on the school playground was inaugurated as well as a bust of Soulouque [better known under the name of Faustin 1st, President and Emperor of Haiti from 1847 to 1859], carved by the artist Herman Osée. These two achievements were financed entirely by the friendly alumni, led by Dr. Hugo Allen.

Plates "honor and merit" were awarded to former Directors of the school including Constael Adrian, for their contribution to the training of young.

Th eve, professors of social sciences Guyto Mathieu, Emmanuel Sanon, Commissioner Kebreau Zamor and stage director Dominique Batraville, had intervened on historical topics, during a vgil cultural and patriotic, orrganized for the students of Lycée.
