On Friday, the President Michel Martelly, warmly welcomed His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, to Port-au-Prince who came to visit projects, that the cooperation Monegasque (Monaco Haïti Collectif), implemented in the country, including the kindergarten and primary school "Prince Albert II", located on the Boulevard Harry Truman (Bicentenaire) and the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory, serving the GHESKIO centers.

With his host, the Head of State discussed about several projects of cooperation between Haiti and the Principality of Monaco in areas such as : agriculture, education and the environment. He also discussed of a possible sending of a technical assistance of Monaco for the Maritime and Navigation Service of Haiti (SEMANAH), in order to define precisely the maritime map of Haiti.

"The Prince Albert II of Monaco has decided to help Haiti, and this without interest. I appreciate his will for solidarity," declared the President Martelly, at the end of his meeting with the Prince Albert II, who is very interested in the marine environment and oceanography.

The President Martelly has also informed the Prince, of efforts already made by his administration, to project a better image of Haiti abroad and took the opportunity to invite the investors of Monaco to come and invest in the country.

The Haitian authorities and of Monaco are also interested to open honorary consulates in Monaco and in Haiti. The President Martelly, who is committed to strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation with the principality has asked Pierre Richard Casimir, the Foreign Minister, to take all the provisions to work on this subject with the Monegasque institutions.
