Thursday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, was in visit in Cap Haitien to inspect the work of the craft market of the town which will provide better living conditions for merchants and craftsmen of the area, allowing them to better expose their products to visitors, and the construction of tourist office in Choiseuil (Milot), to allow a better organization of excursions at National Historical Park composed of the Citadelle La Ferriere, of Sans Souci Palace and Complex Ramiers "All countries in the Caribbean have an economy based on tourism. Within the Government, we struggle to reposition the destination and provide vital tourism revenues in the Haitian economy," declared the Minister which described the work of "completely successful".

Moreover, Stéhanie Villedrouin expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the National Carnival "I'm glad to see that the North sees the National Carnival as a great economic opportunity and contribute to its promotion."

In addition, the North Regional Office of the Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that 2.224 guest rooms, meeting the criteria established by it have been had listed. These rooms are available to accommodate visitors to the National Carnival which takes place from 10 to 12 February in the Northern metropolis.
