Friday 1 and Saturday 2 February 2013, took place the official launch of the social program "Ti Manman Cheri", in Camp Perrin, Marigot and Jacmel. The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by several members of the Government, including Rose Anne Auguste, the Minister Delegate in Charge of Human Rights and the Fight Against Extreme Poverty and Régine Godefroy, Minister of Communications, took part in these different activities of money transfer intended to the mothers of these Haitian communes, having at least one child in school.

Within the framework of the launch of Ti Manman Cheri, a component of the National Social Assistance Programme "Ede pep", established by the administration Martelly-Lamothe, a total of 1,150 mothers was registered the level of these three towns. At Camp Perrin 400 mothers of schoolchildren of MEMSH were targeted. In Marigot, the 400 new beneficiaries of "Ti Manman Cheri" ave their children at the National School and the School of Boys. The children of 350 mothers registered in Jacmel attend the National School Exina Gilles and the School Egex Gousse. During the launch, a hot meal and a basket of solidarity have been distributed to each parent.

The Prime Minister reminded once again that the administration Martelly, Lamothe had designed this program to improve the living conditions of Haitian mothers. The Head of Government argued that the mothers had the right to dignity accompany their children to school, so that they become of actors trained at the service of their country.

The Minister Delegate, Rose Anne Auguste, indicated that the administration Martelly-Lamothe wanted to combat the contempt of the poorest women and believed in the reconstruction of their dignity and the strengthening of their capacities, so that they contribute to the well-being of their son and daughters, for the development of the country.

"Ti Manman Cheri" is a social protection program for families with young children in school and living in extreme poverty. This program consists to regularly transfer money to these families provided they fulfill the specific commitments designed to improve their human capacities. Objectives of the program "Ti Manman Cheri" : Reduce the financial burden of education ; Improve human capabilities of future generations ; Improve retention and school attendance of beneficiary children ; Positive influence on the quality of schools and the empowerment of women ; Inject liquidity into the local economy.
