Haiti - Economy : Haiti ranked among the best countries...

According to the latest report of the World Bank (WB), published in December 2012, Haiti is ranked among the top countries in terms of Investment Promotion online. This report, which measures the investment climate has been created in partnership with "ProInvest" (Programme of the European Commission) and the Ministry of Finance of Spain.

Haiti made a considerable jump in the rankings measuring the effectiveness of 189 Investment Promotion Agencies, the CFI has indeed achieved the distinction "Best Practices" in the promotion of investments online with a score of 85%. This is an excellent result compared to the note of 32% "Mention weak" obtained during the last interim evaluation in June 2012, and above the average obtained by the countries of the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) estimated at 67% (2012).

This good performance was possible thanks to the efforts of the CFI team that stood out among the 189 other participating agencies, by implementing an online communication strategy, responding to standards and practices recommended by the World Bank.

"The decision making process in terms of investment consists of four steps: the search for information, site visits, negotiation and implementation process. The access to information is the first step, which determines most often the interest or no of an investor to continue its efforts. By effectively communicating the economic potential of the country, by disseminating relevant sectoral information and by providing an excellent service, we improve the transparency and strengthen investor confidence," explained Me Georges Andy René, Director General of CFI, which expressed his greater satisfaction, regarding the work of his team, more determined than ever to improve the level of attraction of Haiti, especially in another report of the World Bank entitled "Doing Business".

This distinction is an excellent news for Haiti, which wants to make of privates investments, the engine of economic growth, job creation and social development.
