Haiti - Social : 500 children from disadvantaged neighborhoods of Bel-Air, receive gifts

Peacekeepers of the 1st company of the 2nd Battalion Brazilian (Brabat 2), of teh Minustah, in partnership with the Brazilian NGO "Viva Rio", has proceeded recently, to a distribution of gifts in favor of 500 children aged 2 to 10 years of neighborhoods of Bel-Air [Lassaline, Saint Martin, Wharf Jérémie et Fort National].

Balloons, dolls, cars, helicopters, as well as educational toys were distributed as part of this activity called "Nwel rapwochman pou lapè" (Christmas reconciliation for peace).

"It's a good thing that the Brazilian military have decided to offer these toys to the children. Because, personally, I did not really have the means to offer one to my daughter," declared a young mother of 23 years came with her ​​3 year old daughter to this distribution of gifts.

For Captain Aguilar Garcia, whose men are in charge of security at Bel-Air and coordinator of the activity, the purpose of this act is "to enable that Christmasis a really happy time for the children of Bel-Air so that they can dream of a better tomorrow."
