Haiti - Social : The presidential couple celebrates Christmas with more than 5,000 children

Wednesday, December 19, at the National Palace, the Office of the First Lady of the Republic, Sophia Martelly, organized a day recreational in prelude to the Christmas for 5,000 children from underprivileged disadvantaged segments of the population. Multiple personalities of the public administration participated in this celebration. "Nwèl Pa m, Nwèl Lakay" is the theme chosen this year for this celebration.

The President Michel Martelly and his wife Sophia, distributed toys to all the children who made the trip. The First Lady believes it is important that the Presidency join children on the occasion of Christmas, to celebrate this great festival "The State has an obligation to supervise the children and provide to their physical well-being, mental and material," she declared.

Throughout the day, thousands of school children sang, danced to the music of their favorite artists. Wanito, Salina Charles, dancers and other entertainers have assured the atmosphere into the afternoon.

Very satisfied, children, toys in hand, are left with a smile, with words of appreciation to the President Martelly and the First Lady.

The presidential couple again this year, wanted to demonstrate its commitment to children, no matter what strata of society they belong and took the opportunity to wish Happy Christmas and New Year to all children of Haiti.
