Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice informs, that the police have seized Friday, two trucks and arrested their drivers, for abusive exploitation and illegal, of the sand quarry of Laboule, located in the hills of Petion-ville.
These arrests follow the note of the Government prohibiting the operation of the quarry reminds the Minister, stressing that "this abusive practice, is undoubtedly, an affront to public safety and a serious threat to the environment, it can not be tolerated. Formal instructions have been passed to the police in order to proceed to the the arrest of any offender. Records of truck drivers apprehended, are about to be sent to the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port au Prince, for legal suites."
