Haiti - Security : Crackdown of Commissioner in Petion-ville

As part of the operation "gason pa kanpe", our tireless Government Commissioner, Lucman Délille, after 17 arrests Tuesday, has proceeded with the National Police of Haiti (PNH), to the arrest of 8 repeat offenders in Petion-ville.

Thursday, the Commissioner declared "[...] this is the same battle 'gason pa kanpe', and today we we made a crackdown in Petion-ville. I also want to give a nod to the PNH, and merchants that helped us to find these criminals, these people are repeat offenders, they have already been arrested and released... according to information from police and judicial sources.

They are 8 in number, some have drugs on them, they are : Jean Bernanrd Istel, Jean Charles Mekendi, Thermilus Fritz, Gonzalez Georges Ilus, Ralph Estimé, Even John, Olivar James and Edmé Mckesson.

We give their names, because they are repeat offenders who have been released into the circumstances that we do not know. What is certain by cons, is that these individuals watching people exiting from the bank and transfer houses to steal them, moreover, every afternoon they were going ransom the merchants, by threatening to kill them if they did not pay [...]

We will no longer tolerate this type of situation [...] it is time for these things end, we can not tolerate the unacceptable and unacceptable can not be defended [...]

We obtained the information on these individuals, with the phone number that we gave in the press and we begin to get results. I once again gives the number is the 48 90 39 83, because it is through this number, that the merchant called us, I can not tell you how it's party time, so people are happy because money is important for the merchants, which often have to repay the money they borrowed [...]

We did not find any weapons, but marijuana and other things, these 8 individuals are currently at the Prosecutor's Office for questioning and for the legal suites [...]"
