Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly met the Secretary General of SEGIB
Sunday, after the nomination of Haiti, as an observer member of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) by the twenty-two participating countries at XXII Ibero-American Summit, the President Michel Martelly, has been received by Iglesias Enrique, the Ibero-American Secretary General, around the integration of Haiti to the organization of Summit.
The Ibero-American Secretary General discussed with the President Martelly of problem of language and of statutes of the event, which could make it difficult the integration of Haiti to the Summit, since the latter is generally directed to countries with Spanish or Portuguese as the official language...
The President Martelly, has made an analysis of the evolution of the socio-political situation in Haiti in recent months and addressed environmental issues in order to find sustainable and immediate solutions as well as strategies of environmental protection. The Head of State has launched an invitation to the Executive Committee of the Summit, to visit Haiti. Responding positively to this invitation, an official delegation should be in Port-au-Prince in February 2013.
The meeting concluded on commitments of cooperation between Haiti and the General Secretariat of the Ibero-American Summit, Iglesias Enrique promised to mobilize the countries and his contacts in order to strengthen aid and investment in Haiti.
