Haiti - Social : «Vertières: The State Of Our Nationhood !»

Sovereign Haiti Initiative (SHI), invites the Haitian community and the general public to come celebrate on Sunday, November 18 at 6:00 pm at Carlito's VIP Lounge. 248 E. Crogan St. Lawrenceville, GA 30046, the 209th anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, date of the last battle of the native army of the powerful French army of Napoleon Bonaparte, that emancipated us from colonial oppressionand allowed us to become a free and independent nation.

Under the theme "Vertières: the state of our Nation !" this commemorative day, hosted by Jean-Marc Pierre and Martine Volcy lead us to reflect on the state of our Nation past, present and future with our guest speakers including, among others : Georgia Haitian American association (GHAA) Executive Dir. Joseph Frantz H. Verlus ; Ton. Kwame Afari (Brilliance Rising) ; Political Analyst Moise Garçon (Consulat of Atlanta). Dance, performance, music, arts of Haiti are also part of this event.

Admission: $8, which makes you eligible to win a "great piece of art of Haiti"
