Haiti - Social : U.S. Consulate Closed Thursday, October 25, 2012

The Embassy of the United States of America in Port-au-Prince inform the general public that, due to extreme weather conditions and in anticipation of the passage of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Sandy, the U.S. Consulate will be closed on Thursday, October 25, 2012. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services unit will be closed for routine services. All previously scheduled appointments for October 25 will be rescheduled for another date. Again, American citizens in need of emergency assistance should call 2229-8000 and ask to be connected to the duty officer.

Nonimmigrant visa services

All nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for October 25 will be rescheduled on a to-be-determined date. Applicants with appointments on October 25 should monitor the radio and Embassy website for new appointment dates. If your situation is urgent, please email papniv@state.gov and specify the emergency nature of the situation.

Immigrant visa services

Immigrant visa applicants scheduled for an interview on October 25 should come for their interviews at the same time on Wednesday, October 31. If you have any questions you may call CIVA at 3859-9564 or email papcons@state.gov

Appointments for all other consular services scheduled for October 25, 2012 will be rescheduled on a to-be-determined date.
