Haiti - Politic : Of Senators have shunned Michaëlle Jean in Washington

In his speech at "Global Haitian Diaspora Congress 2012", which ended Saturday in Washington, Michaëlle Jean, UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti, addressing the socio-political crisis in Haiti declared "If it is necessary to have criticism to encourage the Executive to take stock of his actions, it is necessary to let him work," pursuing by emphasizing the efforts of President Martelly to out people of IDP camps and praising the communication skills of the Head of State with the population.

Remarks, which seem having highly displeased to some members of the Office of the Senate of the Republic, present in this Congress, who subsequently canceled a scheduled meeting, arguing that Ms. Jean would have held too partisan comments in favor of the Head of State... [!]

The Senator Andris Riche, making an implied reference to the statements of Ms. Jean, deplored that the Congress is the extension of a pro-government propaganda, initiated by the Haitian media, who want to make believe to the population that the Government Martelly is efficient...

Note with irony that the theme of this Global Haitian Diaspora Congress 2012, was "Unity for Results"...
