Haiti - Politic : Convocation in extraordinary session of Parliament

By Presidential Order dated October 9, 2012, the President Michel Martelly, convened in to the extraordinary Senators and Deputies, this Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm. This extraordinary session will be devoted to the review and vote on acts very important for the smooth running of the country.

On the agenda :

Bill sanctioning the money laundering and terrorist financing. [A law essential to the respect of international conventions, without which Haiti risk of being blacklisted with negative consequences for foreign investment];

Bill on the establishment, organization and functioning of the National Fund for Education (FNE) [The funds raised through a levy on money transfers and phone calls from the diaspora, ntended for the education, can not be used by the Government, nor benefit to the schooling of Haitian children in the absence of the Act]

Draft bill on Electronic Administration;

[It is part of e-Governance and will allow the government the decentralization of some of its services via the Internet (online services)]

Draft bill on electronic exchanges;

[essential among other things, for the creation of business online and for reducing the delays]

Bill on electronic signature adapting the law of evidence to the information technology and broadening the skills of the National Council of Telecommunications;

[indissociable of two previous bills]

All other Agreements, Treaties and Conventions deemed relevant;

Designation of three (3) representatives of the Legislative Body to the Permanent Electoral Council [To regularize and strengthen the credibility of a Permanent Electoral Council to 9 members instead of 6 now]

This Extraordinary Session will last until exhaustion of the subject of this notice. It only remains to hope that parliamentarians will be present in large numbers... and that they will demonstrate overshoot and responsibility by voting these laws, which will allow the Government to move forward, for the benefit of the population.
