Haiti - Culture : 2nd Edition of the festival of poetry of Jérémie

Jérémie (Grand'Anse] will host from 8 to 14 October 2012, the second edition of the festival of poetry of Jérémie, organized by the Centre Culturel Jean-François Brierre in partnership with the Foyer Culturel of Jérémie of Jérémie, the French Alliance, Catholic Graduate School of Law, the Centre Numa Drouin, the town of Jérémie, the town of Abricots and of Dame-Marie, he National Library, Communication Plus and the French Institute of Haiti.

Poets, novelists and artists will be there for this festival of poetry which will include among others : a book fair with 25 authors in signing, theater, music, dance and painting exhibition.

Many activities are planned : poetry reading, editing of texts, exhibition of works of Haitian poets and authors of books published in 2012, conferences and debates on the life and work of three poets centenarians (Magloire Saint-Aude, Roussan Camille and Félix M. Leroy), workshops of poetic writing, fiction and drama.

The evening will be animated by Wooly Saint-Louis Jean, Félix Jean Guillaume, Harry Juste and the popular Wanito.

For a participation of young people, 10 poetry writing workshops for 10 groups of young of ten municipalities of Grand'Anse will be organized.

Fiction writing workshops will be led by Kettly Mars and Gary Victor. Syto Cavé [native of Jérémie] will lead a theater workshop. Two workshops on painting will be held respectively by the Jacmélien Rénold Laurent and the Beaumontrois Mérès Wèche.

Two workshops on the music be realized by Wooly Saint Louis and Jean Felix Jean Guillaume.
