Qualified of waste of money by many, the Carnival of Flowers with a budget of 65 million gourdes (including the debt of Carnival of Cayes), proved in fact, to be an operation financially positive, as shown the financial report presented on Monday 3 September, by Jean Mario Dupuy, the Minister of Culture, surrounded by members of the Carnival of Flowers.

"The publication of this report responds to a requirement of President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, asking each member of the government, to be accountable to the population, of expenditures made within the framework of his actions, in the interests of the transparency," reminded the Minister of Culture.

Jean-Dany Pierre-François, the President of the Committee, stated that, after expenses, the balance in the treasury of the Committee, is positive of 20 million 47 thousand 297 gourdes and 65 praising the profitability of this first edition of the Carnival of Flowers, while stating that the Haitian State, had also paid its debts of Carnival of Cayes (31,689,234.68 Gourdes).

In the report of treasury of Carnival of Flowers 2012, in the availability section, we find a transfer from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of a amount of 65 million gourdes, income generated by the stands 31,164,000 gourdes, revenue generated by advertising spaces 58,069,200 for a subtotal of 154,233,200, the beginning balance was 798,000 gourdes and previous debts of 31,689,234.68 gourdes for a total of 122,543,965.32 gourdes.

In Section of expenses, it is written : Artistic 26,100,880.36 ; Musical entertainment 27,030,600 ; Public Relations and Communications 3,333,932.29 ; Logistics/Emergency-Rescue/Public Safety 9,109,022.00 ; Institutional Support / Miscellaneous equipment 4,665,143.00 ; Staff Management / General Coordination 3,519,000.00 ; Stand builders 21,156,240.00 ; Private media and RTNH 2,592,000.00 ; DGI 2,877,850.00 ; Town Hall of Port-au-Prince 2,112,000.00 gourdes for a total of 102,496,667,65 gourdes.

The ending balance is 20,047,297.67 gourdes.
