The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST), whose the mission is to be alongside the most vulnerable, informs the population that the permanence is declared since Thursday, August 23 at the level of its various Directorates and decentralized bodies, in anticipation of damage that could cause the passage of Isaac in different regions of the country.

Various measures have been taken in terms of preparation :

Creation of sectoral committee provisional of management of emergency situations of MAST, pending the establishment of a permanent committee ;

Meeting of the Minister, Ms. Joséphat Raymond Gauthier, with the Director General, members of his cabinet, and his representative in the SPGRD and the Sectoral Committee Provisional ;

Acquisition of hygiene kits, sleeping bags and other, as well as food kits allowing to respond in time and provide hot meals to persons in temporary shelters ;

Mobilization of volunteers of the Caisse of Social Assistance and of Departmental Directorates in support to the Management Committee of Temporary Shelters ;

Mobilization of various Directorates autonomous and / or deconcentrated of MAST, for an appropriate response. To this end, the Office of Insurance Work Accident, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA) increased its capacity at the level of the emergency and the Institute of Welfare and Research (IBESR) activated of cells of emergencies and made available to the public, two phone lines 133 and 511 in case of need.

The Ministry of Social Affairs reminds the population the importance of following to the letter the instructions of the authorities and show citizens solidarity, to limit the damage.
