Vanneur Pierre, the new Minister of Education and Vocational Training urges school officials to meet the deadline of October 1, set for next school year and launches a warning against the schools who would be tempted to set a date of return to school before October 1, or ask parents to pay for the month of September.

"[...] The decision for schools to open on October 1, is a State decision [...] everyone will respect the date, we have inspectors on the ground, we have Departmental Directorates, of Directors of zone, we will take action because we are the state [...] Whatever the person does not meet that date, we will take action against it, and the parents will not pay for September, it is the decision of the State, it is October that they will have to pay [...] the decision is made and it will be respected at all levels [...]"
