Following the destruction of the Public Market of Tabarre on the night of 24 to 25 February 2012, where thousands of traders have seen go up in smoke all their goods, Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Commerce and Industry held a meeting Friday on the recapitalization of victims of the fire of market.

Was present at the meeting: Mrs Yanick Mézil, Minister for Women's Affairs and Women's Rights, Jean Frantz Théodat, the former mayor of the municipality of the town of of Tabarre, Noel Jonathas, Representative of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) and several officials from the Ministry.

The Minister informed of the results of the census operation of merchants of Tabarre, preliminary phase and indispensable, before the implementation of measures and appropriate support mechanisms. The Minister took the opportunity to announce the involvement soon, of two representatives of associations of merchants in the steering committee to ensure more transparency in the progress of the issue.

"Every day that passes is a day too long" said the Minister, who wants to define an accompanying protocol of merchants and identify the nstitutions that are stakeholders in this issue to provide concrete answers to all those concerned.

The Minister Laleau said he was determined to find, with other state actors involved, solutions to help victims of this tragedy, indicating that the final report will be ready next week for submission to the Government.
