Haiti - Diplomacy : Condolences from the Haitian Government to the people of Ghana
Haiti's Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, expresses to the people of Ghana, the condolences of the Government of Haiti, following the news of the sudden disappearance of the President of Ghana Mr. John Atta Mills, who died suddenly at age 68, of cancer. The President John Atta Mills, who led Ghana since 2009, is replaced by his Vice-President, Mr. Dramani Mahama, for an interim that will last until the presidential election scheduled for December 2012.

Laurent Lamothe stresses that with the death of the Ghanaian Head of State, Ghana has lost a statesman who has marked the modernity in that country and has contributed decisively to the stability up to transform his country into a real example of democracy in West Africa.

The Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe like the heads of government around the world salutes the memory of the disappeared, a note well received this morning in Ghana, one of the largest oil producers of the region. He wishes success to the new Acting Head of State and promises to continue to strengthen ties with this brotherly country of sub-Saharan Africa, on behalf of the Business Diplomacy and of development.
