Haiti - Economy : Peinture Caraïbes S.A., settles in the Industrial Park of North

"Peinture Caraïbes S.A", already present in the North, signed Tuesday with the Haitian government an agreement for the installation of a second production plan, in the new Industrial Park of North, to Caracol.

On an area of 5 hectares, the beginning of the construction of new buildings, is expected next month in order begin the activities on October 1 2012. This is the second company, after the Korean textile company, SAE-A, to settle concretely in the Industrial Park of Caracol.

The President Michel Martelly who participated in the Industrial Park, to the official launch of "Peinture Caraïbes S.A", by the signature of the deed of lease of new premises of the company, congratulated the Haitian company, for its participation to the revival of economic sector and promised that the Government will bring it all its support.

Pierre Gardère, the President of "Peinture Caraïbes S.A." has welcomed the installation of this second production plan which is expected to create over 300 jobs directly in the first two years. "It is an honor for us to be the first Haitian firm in the park of Caracol [...] We can not have confidence in our country if we do not invest ourselves in its economy. It is this example that wants to show Peinture Caraïbes," adding that beyond serving the regional market "our ultimate goal remains the international market."

Moreover, the Head of State announced the upcoming launch of an industrial park in Fort-Liberté, which will provide thousands of jobs to residents of this commune.

The U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Merten present at the launch, expressed his satisfaction declaring that "[...] The installation of these companies in the Industrial Park of Caracol, is a clear signal to investors around the world, to tell them that Haiti is open for business."
