An Italian delegation composed among others of Massimo Achini, President of the Italian National Sports Centre, Davide Lachetti, Representative of the international activities and 6 businessmen, will be in Haiti from July 9 to 16, 2012.

This visit follows that of Peter Ermence Poitevien, the Director General of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, in Italy in May where the Italians had offered to assist Haiti in the implementation of micro Sports Center of proximity, in popular areas where there is a high density of young people, including football fields, of volleyball, of basketball, of tennis and of athletics in order to encourage the practice of sports.

During their stay, the Italian delegation will meet, Jean Roosevelt René the Haitian Minister of Sport, Pierre Ermence Poitevien and other authorities of the Civil Society. The delegation will visit several towns in order to select, in consultation with the Ministry, the locations where will be implanted these micro Sports Centres and will define an activity schedule to begin the project of implantation by the end of 2012.

The number of sports centers and their dimensions, will be determined during their stay and a Memorandum of Understanding should be signed between the Ministry and its future Italian partners.
