Haiti - Politic : 4 days of retreat for Senator, at Club Indigo...
The Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate has indicated that the senator will be in retreat for four days (from 1 to 4 July 2012] at Club Indigo in order to prepare for the next plenary session. It will undoubtedly question, of the controversy surrounding the publication of the amended text of the Constitution and of the Article 137 subject of controversy, of the great issues of the day and challenges to overcome for the next elections.

The Senator Desras declared "...from 1 to 4 July the Senators will go into retreat at Club Indigo to reflect on a set of problems that deserve reflection, so that we we divided the tasks, so that we began to work in plenary session, to work in the Committee and also, to prepare ourselves for the challenges that are coming [...] very soon, we will be in electoral period and we will have a big responsibility as power, to ensure us that all things go well, that institutions function well. Also to ensure us, that these elections will be fair elections, credible and transparent, that there will be no abuse of power, no forfeiture and that the rate of corruption in the context of these elections, may decrease to ensure that it is a thermometer, that takes the temperature of democracy in Haiti, although it is not always effective...

[...] Before going to elections, I think we should prepare ourselves as an institution, to face all these challenges. So we will sit down to think and come out with common positions on all these issues..."
