Haiti - Justice : Seizure of a boat in Gonaïves...

On order of the Magistrate Denis Cyprien, the prosecutor of Port-au-Prince proceeded Monday to the seizure in the Port of Gonaives, of the the commercial vessel "La Flecha", owned by businessman Mouni Mourra...

Me Jean Renel Sénatus, the Government Commissioner who welcomed this seizure q confirmed Wednesday, the confiscation of the boat, which would be involved in the transport of smuggled goods including cosmetics. He stated that this action follows the recent seizure of goods, made ​​in Delmas 31, which would have led the judicial authorities to this boat. Nearly $300,000 of goods were confiscated in the operation, goods that were found both in the market of Port-au-Prince, than in Gonaïves.

Me Jean Renel Sénatus said he wanted to find and arrest all those involved in this case to bring them to justice. According to the information of the Government Commissioner, Cynthia Cassis Mourra and a person responding to the name of Sherley, two suspects arrested during the operation conducted in Delmas, were released against payment of a deposit of USD $547.000.

The "La Flecha" will soon be transferred to Port-au-Prince as evidence in the investigation.
