Haiti - Social : The Departmental Directorate North of the PNH, cleans the Cap-Haitien

Following the awareness campaign and of civic engagement, launched by the Regional Office North of Tourism, on May 16, the Departmental Directorate North of the PNH, has proceeded earlier this week, to a cleanup day in several parts of the city of Cap-Haitien to send a clear signal to the population capoise on its willingness to contribute to tourism development.

"As a prelude to the Festival of the Sea that will organize the Regional Office North of Ministry of Tourism [July 13-15, 2012], we wanted to send a signal to the population, in order to stop throwing garbage all over the streets of the city, which is considered as History and Tourist Capital of the Country. It is also an opportunity for us to get involved in social action and citizenship, alongside our mission which is to protect and serve the people," declared Carl-Henry Boucher Director of the PHN in the Northern Department.

The cleanup day was strongly supported by the Regional Directorate North of Ministry of Tourism particularly in terms of logistics and Ms. Dieudonne E. Luma, the Director of the Ministry of Tourism in the Northern Region, has applauded the initiative taken by the PNH and promised to continue the awareness campaign among the population, to ensure sustainable tourism development in the community.
