The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe presided, the first sharing meeting between the Haitian government and the G12 [Group consists of the largest donors of Haiti]. Was present at this meeting, Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance, Josépha Gauthier, Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, and Nigel Fisher, the Coordinator of the G12.

During this meeting, it was question of respect for the strategic development plan of Haiti as unique framework of planning ; of the rapid implementation of projects, the urgent unlocking of key projects of the rebuilding of Haiti ; of capacity building of the State through the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation and of strengthening of units of study and of planning of sectoral ministries.

The Prime Minister invited donors to commit to the implementation of the strategic development plan of the country to the horizon of 2030, also highlighting the firm willingness of his Government to get out of the Haiti's absolute dependence on external aid.

To this end, a sovereign solution of management of external cooperation, proposed by the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, will be prepared and submitted to the appreciation of the next Council of Ministers. The channeling of external aid towards state institutions is one of the first aspects of this new cooperation policy.

Such initiatives are part, according to the Chief of Government, of the modernization of state institutions. The Office of Human Resource Management's mission is to lead the implementation of this policy of institutional modernization.

The Group of Twelve or G12 is an informal grouping of thirteen countries whose central banks cooperate for the international regulation of the finance. The G12 originally included the 10 members of International Monetary Fund established in 1962, plus Spain and Australia. When Switzerland joined in 1984 the number was increased to 13 but the group name has remained unchanged [Germany, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Spain, USA, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden , Switzerland and United Kingdom].
