Tuesday, Mariano Fernandez Amunategui, the Special Representative of Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti, has congratulated, warmly the 153 students police inspectors, of the 9th promotion, who have been promoted to the Police Academy, after six months of intensive training "which is a further step in the stabilization of Haiti, the strengthening of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and consequently in the strengthening of the institutions of rule of law," he declared.

The Special Representative has also committed to continue the collaboration with the PNH, as part of the 2012-2016 development program, including by increasing the number of promotions each year.

Believing that the partnership between the PNH and the Minustah remains the "label" of the daily work of the UNPOL in Port-au-Prince and in the regions, Mr. Fernandez has also welcomed the unanimous recognition expressed, during the graduation ceremony, on the role of the UNPOL and of the Minustah in the development of the PNH.
