The increase in demand for nonimmigrant visas, as well as new regulations requiring additional security screenings, has increased the cost of visa processing and thus increased the cost of nonimmigrant visas. Meanwhile, the fees regarding the other categories of visa, including the immigrant visa will be reduced.

Those who paid at Sogebank on or before April 12 can use that receipt to apply for a nonimmigrant visa through July 12, 2012. April 13, all applicants will pay the new fees.

No refunds will be available for immigrant visa applicants who paid higher fees before April 13, 2012. However, these receipts are valid for the usual one year from the date of issuance.
