Haiti - Social : The Minister of the Interior provides aid to flood victims

The torrential rains that lashed several parts of the country have left at least six victims in North and Northwest. Nearly 700 people were displaced and significant damage was reported, more than 100 homes were damaged, crops destroyed, and livestock losses.

Me Thierry Mayard Paul, the Minister of Interior and Local Authorities went yesterday Thursday, April 12, in the department of the Northwest, accompanied by the deputy of Port-de-Paix, François Luitz Amiot and of Departmental Delegate Emmanuel Rémy.

The Minister said that his presence reflects the desire of his administration to provide all necessary support to the people of Saint Louis du Nord, of Croix Rouge, of Figuier and the Rivière des Barres hit by the recent torrential rains that have battered Haiti.

Me Mayard Paul has distributed to the population of these cities and municipalities, materials and products of basic necessities. The Minister affirmed that the Haitian government will not abandon the victims in this difficult situation. "We are with you to assist you and guide you. The government of President Martelly takes your troubles very seriously"
