Haiti - Education : 21 officials will receive training to the ENAP of Quebec

Monday, was launched at the Hotel Karibe, the second promotion of officials, who will follow during 2 years a training of level Master in Administration, to the Ecole National d'Administration Publique (ENAP) of Quebec, to be able to meet the new requirements of public administration.

21 officials candidates including 8 women, from various ministries and regional departments are preparing to take the training to strengthen the Haitian government. The beneficiaries of this program, signed a contract with the Haitian government, in which they pledge to work for at least 5 years in public administration after completing their training.

This program, started in May 2009, at the initiative of the Canadian Government under the Project for the Strengthening of Public Management (PARGEP) has a budget of over $7 million over 5 years. It is funded to 68.8% by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), 21.3% by the Government of Quebec and 9.9% by the Haitian state.

Ms. Renée Lamontagne, Coordinator of the Masters at ENAP, considers that this new promotion is a continuity in this cooperation with Haiti and hopes that this contribution participates to the change dreamed within the Haitian public administration.
