Haiti - Politic : The Commission of analysis of documents of the Prime Minister-designate, at work...

The Commission responsible for analyzing the documents of the Prime Minister designate held its first working session yesterday Wednesday... The nationality and the 5 years of residence of Laurent Lamothe in Haiti, are the priority points of the Commission. "Two Subcommission were set up" reported the Senator Rodolphe Joazile, President of the Commission. The first Subcommission, responsible for the issue of the nationality, is composed of senators Kély C. Bastien, Jeanty Jean William and Jean Baptiste Bien Aimé. The second Sub-commission, responsible for the issue of the residence is composed of senators Franky Exius, Lucas Sainvil and Melius Hyppolite.

"[...] we had our first working session and this session we decided to form two subcommissions, one is responsible for reviewing at the National Archives and immigration if they are genuine parts [...] we have to give a special attention o the latter [...] the Prime Minister-designate submitted 3 passports to the Commission and 3 others hat were given to the Commission of Inquiry on nationality, So we'll have to exchange information [...] the other is responsible for the issue of residency [...] we think it is very important that we get to work [...] tomorrow we'll start with all these activities to see if by the end of next week we can have a final report... [...] since he [the Prime Minister-designate] has submitted 58 documents, now we will classified them classified according to the criteria of Article 157 of the Constitution and at that time, each subcommissions will take a lot of documents to see if by Monday or Wednesday they may give us a preliminary report [...] during the session we had time to write to the Commission on the nationality so that it can share with us all the information on the nationality of Mr. Lamothe... "

However, a first cloud seems to appear in the process. According to the Commission, one document lacks on the record of Prime Minister-designate, the letter of acceptance by the Government of Suriname of his resignation as Honorary Consul in Haiti. A document that will be difficult to Laurent Lamothe to provide since he suggested that he had declined the nomination because of his many occupations and therefore he had never held that position... Moreover, his certificate of discharge has not been delivered, "a document that should not be a lock," according to Senator Bastien who recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe continue to liquidate the current affairs of the State.
