Haiti - Politic : The Ambassador of France, confident but cautious, face the political situation in Haiti

On the sidelines of a visit to Jacmel within the framework of the fortnight of the Francophonie, the Ambassador of France accredited to Haiti, Didier Le Bret spoke about the political situation in Haiti and its potential consequences. His remarks were intended confident but hardly masked some concern about the crisis, if it is not resolved quickly.

For now, we are always on the same pace of disbursement of our projects. Which may affect the country, it is the feeling that the country plunges into an institutional crisis, that, this is likely to slow the economic activity, but not only because it affects donor projects [...] in a democracy, having an opposition that expresses itself, it's part of the anti-establishment, when the opposition is the majority in the House that complicates things... But I think that it is in the interest of everybody to rebuild the country, you need a broad consensus on a few simple ideas and, I think and hope today that the Haitian political actors working on this..."
