Two days before the start of the National Carnival to be held this year in the city of Les Cayes [February 19 to 21, 2012] under the theme "Ayiti ap dekole, Okay pran devan", the Committee has informed that the musical floats of the bands are already in place and that the 11 allegorical floats will arrive in the coming hours. The government has already paid this week 28 million gourdes on the 50 million promised, the balance should be disbursed this Thursday or Friday...

The Ministry of Culture has sent us a list of 13 musical floats and of 11 allegorical floats taking part in the big parade of Carnival :

Marie May Fourcand, Spokesperson of Carnival Committee of Cayes declared "We promised and we will do our best to deliver the goods" adding that all measures have been taken to enable the participants of the carnival to have fun safely.
