TPS : Remittance Shocks and Vulnerability : The working paper titled "Remittance Shocks and Macro-financial Vulnerability in Haiti : Risks Associated with Temporary Protected Status (TPS)" authored by Kensley Blaise, Jean Marie Cayemitte, and Jean Gardy Victor of the Department of Economic and Financial Research (DREF), draws on 21 years of monthly data, covering the period from October 2004 to September 2025. This data allows the researchers to examine the links between remittances from the diaspora and various economic indicators, and to analyze the potential effects of a decline in remittances over time. The analysis seeks to answer the following questions: do the consequences of ending TPS manifest in the initial months, or do they emerge later? And how long might these effects persist?
