Haiti - News : Zapping...
PNH Recruitment : Lie Detector Test for Candidates : The Recruitment Service of the Haitian National Police (PNH) invites all candidates who have already completed the interview stage but have not yet taken the EYEDETECT (lie detector) test—as well as those who did not previously qualify—to report to the National Police Academy (ENP) on Saturday, October 31, 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m., in order to continue the recruitment process. Agreement Between the MCI and the Informal Sector : The Minister of Commerce and Industry (MCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding at his offices with the Collective of Citizens from the Haitian Informal Sector and Small Businesses (CCSHPE), focusing on formalization and capacity building. This agreement aims to provide technical support to beneficiaries in regularizing their activities and developing their skills, with the goal of facilitating their integration into the formal sector. Centre d’Art : Preparing for the Resumption of Courses and Workshops : Following a nearly two-year suspension of activities in the West Department—a period marked by a deteriorating security situation—the "Centre d’Art" (Art Center) plans to resume its art courses and creative workshops in February 2027. The training programs to be offered will be announced in December 2026, as part of the relaunch of its artistic training activities. U-15 Grenadiers: 2 matches, 1 loss, 1 win :
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, during the classification stage for Division B of the FIFA U-15 Festival and World Cup—held in Baku, Azerbaijan—our young Grenadiers faced off against *La Verde*, the Bolivian national team, in the day’s opening match. Haiti vs. Bolivia : The match got off to an ideal start, catching the Bolivian side off guard in the first half. Star forward John Hadry A. Junior Laroque broke the deadlock to put Haiti ahead [1-0] following a poor clearance by the Bolivian defense—a moment that underscored his excellent form throughout the tournament. The Bolivians pushed hard to level the score, and Verdecita captain Isai Gutiérrez eventually equalized with a superb strike, bringing the teams back to level terms [1-1]. A cruel conclusion arrived in the final minute: just as the match appeared headed for a draw, Bolivian midfielder Bairon Gutiérrez sealed the Grenadiers' fate by scoring from a magnificent direct free kick, handing the victory [2-1] to Bolivia. This result marked the third consecutive defeat for Raúl Triana’s squad in the competition (following losses to Croatia and Qatar). However, because the unique format of the FIFA Festival is not a knockout-style tournament, the Haitian side was able to continue on to the classification matches. Haiti vs. Jamaica : Thanks to a goal from star forward John Hadry A. Junior Laroque—who also scored against Bolivia in the previous match, netted a hat-trick against Azerbaijan (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48756-haiti-flash-u-15-world-cup-victory-against-azerbaijan-[4-0]-haiti-qualifies.html), and scored against Israel (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48749-haiti-flash-another-victory-for-the-u-15-grenadiers-in-the-world-cup-against-israel-[4-2].html) our young Grenadiers prevailed over the Reggae Boyz, the Jamaican national team. Unlike previous, more open-ended matches (such as the 4-3 loss to Croatia), the Haitian defense remained completely airtight and disciplined, preserving the 1–0 lead until the final whistle to secure the victory. New Ambassador of Romania : On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs Raina Forbin received the copies of the letters of credence from Theodora Magdalena Mircea, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Haiti. During the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador also signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the opening of an honorary consulate of Romania in Haiti, marking a new milestone in strengthening bilateral relations. NOTICE : Non-working days : With reference to the Decree of December 11, 2024—specifically Articles 1 and 2, which precisely define official public holidays—the General Secretariat of the Presidency wishes to inform employees in both the public and private sectors that public administration, commerce, industry, and schools will be entirely closed throughout the country on Sunday, November 1, 2026 (All Saints' Day), and Monday, November 2, 2026 (All Souls' Day).
