Development of Les Cayes Airport The National Airport Authority (AAN) is continuing the development of the Antoine Simon International Airport in Les Cayes (Southern Department). According to José Bernard Mathias Schettini, Director General of the AAN (National Airport Authority), the airport’s current runway measures 1,873 meters in length and 25 meters in width. However, operational constraints currently limit its usage to approximately 30 passengers per flight, despite a theoretical capacity of 50. The AAN plans to expand the runway to 1,984 meters in length and 35 meters in width, which would allow for the accommodation of aircraft carrying over a hundred passengers. Furthermore, facilities for international travelers—including areas for customs and immigration formalities—are also planned. "We want Antoine-Simon Airport to gradually acquire modern facilities that meet international standards, and to be able to offer services comparable to those at Cap-Haitien International Airport."

The MCI issues a formal warning to the institutions under its supervision, as well as the general public, regarding these fraudulent practices, and urges everyone to exercise the utmost vigilance in the face of any such solicitations. The Ministry emphasizes that any communication concerning its programs, competitions, or activities should be verified through its official channels. It disclaims all responsibility for commitments made by individuals who may impersonate the Ministry or use its name for fraudulent purposes.
