Zapping Haiti of October 13, 2026
Elections : Moving towards online voter registration As of October 12, 2026, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) had registered 810,696 voters. Addressing the slow pace of voter registration in Haiti, the CEP is establishing a legal framework for online voter registration, as authorized by the revised Article 59. Article 59 stipulates : "Citizens must appear in person at the Registration and Polling Center (CIV), presenting either a valid National Identification Card (CIN) or an identification certificate issued upon request by the ONI—containing their unique national identification number (NINU) and photograph—to be entered into the electoral register in accordance with voter registration procedures. Citizens may also register electronically via the CEP’s digital platform, using their valid CIN. This digital platform meets all international biometric security standards, ensuring the security of citizens' data and the integrity of the registration process." We are doing everything possible to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
