Quiz.HaitiLibre presents a twice-weekly feature titled "Did You Know ?" Today, we ask : which impressive viaduct in southern France is renowned as one of the highest in the world ?

"Did you know that it is the Millau Viaduct, an exceptional work of art located in the department of Aveyron, in France.

Inaugurated in 2004, this cable-stayed bridge crosses the Tarn valley to relieve traffic congestion on the Méridienne. Designed by the brilliant British architect Norman Foster and the French engineer Michel Virlogueux, it holds the world record for the tallest pile, peaking at 343 meters above sea level, higher than the Eiffel Tower.

With its slender silhouette and seven white pylons resembling tall ships, the viaduct literally seems to float above the clouds on foggy mornings.

This technological and aesthetic feat fits harmoniously into the natural landscape of the Causses. Internationally recognized as a masterpiece of modern civil engineering, the viaduct attracts many architecture and technical tourism enthusiasts each year."
