DINEPA : Drinking Water Service in Vallières

On Friday, September 4th, 2026, the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), in partnership with the Regional Office of Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA-Nord), inaugurated the Drinking Water Supply System (SAEP) in Vallières, in the Northeast. Built with funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and support from UNICEF, this infrastructure, whose construction began in January 2026, represents a concrete step forward for access to drinking water in the municipality. In the presence of the Director General of DINEPA, Engineer Théophil Ostinvil, local authorities, representatives of the public administration, and a large crowd, this achievement illustrates the General Directorate's commitment to translating its strategic directions into tangible results, while progressively strengthening drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services in rural and peri-urban areas of Haiti.

The Limite Bridge Under Repair

Repair work has begun on the Limite Bridge, which connects the municipalities of Dondon and Saint-Raphaël. These repairs aim to improve safety for crossings, restore traffic flow, and facilitate the transport of goods and people in the Grand Nord region.

Cap-Haitien City Hall : First 100 Days

To mark the first 100 days of the new municipal commission at the head of the Cap-Haitien City Hall, the municipal authorities organized a large ceremony in the City Hall reception room. This event served to honor several public and private institutions, as well as community figures, who supported the Municipal Commission and contributed to its work during its first 100 days. Last year, the U.S. Embassy in Haiti organized The Social Impact Plan, a program that allows students and content creators to collaborate on producing digital content with the potential for positive impact. In this video, participants directly address the issue of child gang recruitment and emphasize the importance of protecting Haitian youth from the influence of armed groups.

The Basketball Federation on Tour

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the Haitian Basketball Federation (FHB) launched its "FHB to Schools and Basketball Academies" program. For this first step, the Haitian Basketball Federation (FHB) met with young people from the Basketball Plus Academy at the Ayiti Chéri Gymnasium for a session focused on fundamentals, technical drills, and sharing with the young basketball players. Through this program, the FHB aims to strengthen its ties with training institutions, support the work of academies, and contribute to the development of young talent across the country. The FHB will visit other schools and academies in the coming weeks.

ONI Elections : Reminder to Staff

In a circular addressed to its staff, the National Identification Office (ONI) reiterates its obligations of confidentiality, neutrality, and impartiality as the elections approach. The ONI's General Directorate prohibits any unauthorized use of citizens' data and warns that employees involved in such practices are subject to sanctions, including dismissal and legal prosecution.
