CFU Challenge 2026 : Semi-final Schedule Confirmed The organizing committee (CFU) has confirmed the schedule and matchups for the Tier II semi-finals of the 2026 CFU Challenge Series U-14 Men's. This confirmation allows the young Grenadiers prospects to know their next match. This Friday, August 21, at 11:30 a.m. on the pitch of Los Establos in Cap Cana (Punta Cana), our U-14 Grenadiers will face Los Quisqueyanos, the Dominican Republic team, in the Hispaniola derby, while Jamaica will take on Bermuda. Circular on the Security of the Electoral Process The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) has sent Circular No. 106/MJSP/2026 to the Haitian National Police (PNH) concerning the security of the electoral process. The document provides directives on the security of polling stations, maintaining public order, managing political gatherings, and protecting electoral materials. The PNH is primarily responsible for ensuring the protection of citizens, candidates, electoral staff, and electoral materials, in coordination with the electoral security agents designated by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). These measures aim to prevent tensions, strengthen security arrangements, and guarantee a climate conducive to the smooth running of the electoral process. Seizure of 281.5 kg of marijuana During an operation conducted by law enforcement in the Caradeux, Siloe, and Tabarre areas, the Haitian National Police (PNH), through its Bureau for Combating Drug Trafficking (BLTS), arrested Hernso Alexis and Samuel Exterminé in possession of 281.5 kg of marijuana (cannabis). To evade detection by officers, these drug traffickers had concealed the marijuana in bags of charcoal for transport in public. 5 Dangerous Criminals Arrested The Haitian National Police conducted an operation in the Quartier-Morin commune, during which they arrested five individuals: Ulysse Wilnayson alias My Son (21 years old), Pierre Chanoine alias Noine (22), Garçonvil Fedelin (27), Facius Mikenson alias Miken (25), and Petit-Frère Shenaïder alias Dèdè (16). These individuals are believed to be members of a gang operating in the Cerca Lacombe area, led by gang leader Sedanius Tony, alias "Pipi." This gang specializes in murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, and land theft, among other crimes. Air Transport Between Peru and Haiti The Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this week with Haitian aviation authorities to expedite air transport of passengers and cargo between the two countries. This document establishes a regulatory framework that facilitates the transfer of humanitarian aid and reconstruction supplies by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, as the ministry stated in a press release. This memorandum will serve as the basis for a future definitive Air Services Agreement (ASA) and will allow for direct flights to Port-au-Prince as well as to secondary airports, including Cap-Haïtien and Les Cayes. Baccalaureate Results Update The Ministry of National Education promises to publish the Baccalaureate results next week, before the start of the school year scheduled for September 7. HL/ HaitiLibre
