Haiti - Technology : AI in quality control before final validation of State exam results 04/08/2026 09:05:09
A new milestone has been reached in the modernization of public education administration in Haiti. After transforming the marking process for the official 9th AF exams (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48040-technology-revolutionizes-the-marking-of-9th-af-exams.html), the Northeast Departmental Directorate of Education (DDE-NE) is now harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure fairness in education. This initiative positions the Northeast Department among the first in the country to integrate artificial intelligence into the quality control of official exam processing. The objective is clear and fundamental : to guarantee that each student receives an evaluation that strictly reflects their merit. Artificial Intelligence is now being used to support the data verification process, analyze data consistency, detect potential anomalies, and assist teams in quality control before the final validation of results. Far from replacing the people involved in the process (inspectors, data entry operators, and others), AI is a decision-making tool that enhances the accuracy, reliability, and transparency of the system. Every point counts, every student counts. In an official exam, the slightest error can have significant consequences for a candidate's academic progress. The DDE-NE (Departmental Directorate of Education of Neuchâtel) has therefore made a clear choice : to use the most advanced technologies to protect the merit of each student. Behind every exam paper lie months of effort, family sacrifices, and the hope for a better future. As such, no approximations can be tolerated. Thanks to this innovative system, each result undergoes enhanced checks, ensuring that the published grade accurately reflects the work actually completed by the candidate. The DDE-NE emphasizes that artificial intelligence is not intended to replace education professionals. It serves as a tool to support their expertise. Final decisions remain the responsibility of the competent teams. Artificial intelligence provides additional analytical and verification capabilities, helping to prevent errors and strengthen confidence in the assessment system. Through this innovation, the DDE-NE sends a strong message to the entire educational community: the future of Haitian schools rests on modern, responsible, and innovative governance, guided by a fundamental principle : guaranteeing fairness for every student. "Our commitment is clear: no candidate should be penalized by an avoidable error. Every student has the right to an assessment that accurately reflects their work. By putting artificial intelligence at the service of official examinations, we are making technology an instrument of educational fairness and public trust."
