Haiti - Economy : The BRH is preparing the payment system of tomorrow

The BRH continues to modernize the national payment system to make payments and money transfers faster, easier, and more secure.

The BRH is preparing the payment system of tomorrow. It is developing a National Payment Platform that will make payments and money transfers faster, easier, and more secure, while allowing financial institutions authorized by the BRH to connect with each other to offer better service. This platform will connect all financial institutions authorized by the BRH.

With the new system, customers of different financial institutions will be able to make payments and money transfers instantly, even if they use different institutions. This platform is designed to support the evolution of financial technologies, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Who will be connected ? Banks; microfinance institutions; and electronic payment service providers.

BRH Note :

• Before using the services of a financial institution, check if it has authorization from the BRH. The list of financial institutions authorized by the BRH is available at : www.brh.ht.

• To date, the BRH has not granted authorization to any institution to offer services or conduct transactions in cryptocurrency or stablecoins.
