UEFA Nations League : Grenadiers' Opponents

On Thursday, July 23, 2026, following the draw for the 2026-2027 CONCACAF Nations League, Haiti was placed in Group A, alongside Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. The group stage will take place during the international windows of September and October 2026. Each team will play four matches, two at home and two away. The main objective is to finish among the top two teams in the group to qualify for the quarterfinals, scheduled for November 2026. These quarterfinals will be played over two legs, and the winners on aggregate will advance to the semifinals, which will be held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. First round of elections on December 13, 2026

Launch of Operation Green Belt (video)

On Thursday, July 23, 2026, agents from the national protected areas, through the Protected Areas Surveillance Brigade (BSAP), launched Operation Green Belt at Canapé-Vert, on the instructions of Pierre André Gédéon, Director General of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP).

A historic first graduating class

The very first official graduating class is composed of 23 pioneering candidates (15 boys and 8 girls). These students come exclusively from the Cance Agricultural Technical High School (LYTAC), located in Les Cayes in the South Department. Unlike the purely theoretical traditional baccalaureate, the technological baccalaureate introduces practical, field-based exams. For example, in the STAV series, candidates take real-world tests in an experimental garden, focusing on Plant Production and Agricultural Product Processing, before a jury of technicians. A dual certification: In addition to the baccalaureate diploma, successful graduates receive a qualification as an agricultural agent, allowing them to directly enter the job market.

Space Program : Izadorah Lapierre (17 years old) will represent Haiti

Izadorah Lapierre (17 years old) will represent Haiti in the ShakthiSAT international mission, a scientific program bringing together young women from 108 countries to develop a satellite for a lunar orbit mission. According to the organizers, this satellite is scheduled to launch on October 11, 2026, from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in India, aboard a PSLV rocket, before being placed on a trajectory toward lunar orbit.

231st : Treaty of Basel

On July 22, 1795, France and Spain signed the Treaty of Basel, ending the war between them. Under this agreement, Spain ceded the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola to France. The work presented here, preserved in the collections of the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), is a historical map entitled "The Spanish Island under the Indian name of Haiti" attributed to the geographer Jean-Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville. It illustrates the territorial and historical evolution of the island.
