Haiti - BRH : Analysis of the macroeconomic and financial situation and outlook for monetary policy (video)

On July 21, 2026, Ronald Gabriel, Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), presented his analysis of the macroeconomic and financial situation, as well as the outlook for monetary policy, at a press conference.

The BRH noted the continued disinflation process, the stability of the exchange rate for nearly three years, the strengthening of international reserves, and the resilience of the banking system.

The Board also reviewed the main projects undertaken by the Central Bank, including the modernization of the payment system, the strengthening of banking supervision, reforms to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism, and initiatives to promote financial inclusion and SME financing. Discussions also focused on progress made within the framework of the action plan aimed at removing Haiti from the FATF grey list.

The Board further emphasized that the economic outlook remains closely linked to the evolution of the security situation. He reaffirmed the BRH's commitment to conducting a prudent monetary policy, promoting macroeconomic stability, and strengthening confidence in the financial system.
