Haiti - Industry Week 2026 : The MCI focuses on promoting Haitian industrial know-how

Tuesday June 30, 2026 at the Montana Hotel, as part of the preparations for Industry Week 2026, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) organized a working session bringing together the main actors from the public and private sectors.

This initiative is part of an approach to promote and revitalize the Haitian industrial sector. Scheduled for September 2026, this three-day event is intended to be a structured space for reflection, consultation and development of the country's industrial potential.

In his speech, James Monazard, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, underlined the desire to make this edition an initiative designed as a true showcase of Haitian industry thanks to close collaboration between the various stakeholders concerned. He specified that the programming will be structured around panels and thematic workshops intended to bring out concrete proposals in favor of the development of the sector.

Monazard also indicated that this Industry Week will constitute a privileged exhibition space allowing the presentation to the general public as well as to investors of Haitian industrial know-how in all its diversity, while highlighting national productive capacities.

Referring to the national context, the Minister recognized the challenges facing the country, including the need to respond to the humanitarian needs of displaced people and restore a climate of security. However, he recalled that beyond these priorities, it remains essential to preserve economic dynamics and sustainably support the productive sectors.

He also insisted on the fact that Haitian industry is not limited to the textile sector. According to him, the Haitian industry encompasses a wide range of know-how, skills and productive sectors which deserve to be further valorized.

Minister Monazard finally considered that this initiative represents a privileged opportunity to honor Haitian entrepreneurs who, despite a difficult context, continue to produce, innovate, create jobs and demonstrate remarkable resilience.

Speaking at Panel Paulemont, the Director General of MCI reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to this initiative. He stressed that it constitutes a major opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the State and the private sector, with a view to promoting a more structured, more competitive economic environment that is more conducive to investment.

Reaffirming the Ministry's desire to support economic players in a permanent dynamic of dialogue and consultation, he insisted on the need to continue joint efforts in order to promote a sustainable recovery of the industrial sector. Through this approach, the MCI intends to consolidate its partnership with the private sector.
