Haiti - Elections : Refresher courses for future Electoral Registry Agents

As part of preparations for the upcoming elections, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) launched a series of refresher training sessions for future Electoral Register Agents (ADREs) on Monday, June 29, 2026, in the departments of South, Artibonite, Nippes and West (Palmes Region and Gonâve).

In this context, the cities of Les Cayes (South), Gonaïves (Artibonite), and Miragoâne (Nippes) are hosting groups of approximately one hundred young people from various municipalities in the four aforementioned departments every two days. These groups, divided into two rooms, are learning the theoretical and practical concepts necessary to carry out voter registration and voting operations.

For its part, the city of Miragoâne is hosting both the future Regional Electoral Commissions (ADREs) for the 11 communes of Nippes and those for the 5 communes concerned in the West (Léogâne, Grand-Goâve, Petit-Goâve, Anse-à-Galet, and Pointe-à-Raquette).

This exercise will continue in these departments, following the same procedures, for several days, to allow the Electoral Registry Directorate to reach all the agents to be deployed in each commune of these four departments.

The departments of Grand'Anse, South-East, North, North-East, North-West, and Centre will also receive the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) teams for the continuation of these refresher training sessions, pending the official launch of voter registration operations in accordance with current legal provisions.

The CEP reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the professionalization and modernization of the electoral process and to conducting said process in an inclusive and impartial manner, in strict compliance with the principles of independence, transparency, and democratic accountability, in the best interests of the nation.
