Haiti - Humanitarian Aid : New contribution of 900,000 euros from AECID

The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) announces a new contribution of €900,000 to the Regional Joint Humanitarian Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean (RHPF LAC), managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Of this amount, €400,000 is co-financed by the Autonomous Communities of Spain.

This contribution reinforces Spain's support for the humanitarian fund in Haiti, to which it has already contributed a total of €1 million in 2024 and 2025. Thanks to this support, in 2025, 32,390 people received life-saving assistance, including 17,190 women and girls.

This contribution covers key sectors such as the coordination of camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs), education, emergency shelters, food security, health, protection, nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

Implemented by civil society organizations, the RHPF LAC aims to generate concrete change by building on local capacities to strengthen the coordination and effectiveness of aid in Port-au-Prince and other regions. Supported activities include food assistance, protection of women and children who are victims of gender-based violence, support for education, and other essential humanitarian interventions.
