Denial from the Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense formally denies the information disseminated in recent hours by certain media outlets and shared on social media, according to which two former soldiers, recently demoted and dismissed from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47694-zapping-haiti-of-june-6-2026.html , are currently undergoing reinstatement proceedings within the institution.

Les Cayes : Streetlights for Communal Sections

On Friday, June 12, 2026, as part of strengthening the actions of the Municipal Security Council (CSM), the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) approved a project to install streetlights in the communal sections. The Communal Section Administrative Councils (CASEC) received the streetlights at the Cayes City Hall to illuminate the darkest areas, particularly during the FIFA World Cup.

Vehicle Registration and Driver's Licenses : Inauguration of New Premises

The Communication and Public Relations Unit (UCRP) informs all staff that Chesnel François, Director General of the DGI (General Directorate of Taxes), inaugurated the new premises of the Vehicle Registration and Driver's License Section at the former OAVCT (Office of Vehicle Registration and Tax Authorities) headquarters, located on Charles Sumner Avenue.

AI and Cybersecurity

A one-day workshop recently brought together various Haitian stakeholders to discuss topics related to the country's digital sovereignty. Two rounds of discussions highlighted two key points for the modernization of the State. 1) A presentation aimed at "demystifying Artificial Intelligence" which provided a better understanding of the concept of human intelligence versus the capabilities of machines. 2) A presentation aimed at raising awareness among the audience about cybersecurity in light of the Haitian context.
