On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the grand finale of the 5th edition of DevExpo, organized by Banj and the Digicel Foundation, took place during a pitch competition at the Montana Hotel. Representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-Haiti), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Sogebank Group, the Inter-American Development Bank, and numerous partners mobilized around innovation and digital transformation in Haiti were in attendance. This edition, launched in early March 2026 (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46969-haiti-information-technology-ai-challenge-for-social-impact-registration-open.html), was themed "AI for Social Impact" and provided an exceptional showcase for the expertise of Haitian youth. Through their projects, young developers demonstrated how artificial intelligence and digital technologies can help address concrete challenges in fields as diverse as education, health, entrepreneurship, and access to services. Out of more than 200 applications submitted, 29 passed the first selection stage and were shortlisted as the 10 finalists. At the grand finale of this 5th edition, 5 startups were awarded a total of 5 million gourdes to develop projects aimed at improving the lives of their communities. These 5 award-winning startups stand out for their use of artificial intelligence to solve social and economic problems in Haiti. List of Winners : ZònPam: 2,000,000 HTG : A real-time community alert and security platform that informs the public about incidents and high-risk areas in Haiti, while integrating AI (Nora) to answer security-related questions. The organizers remain convinced that the development of these projects will bring more innovation and social impact throughout the country. UNDP congratulates the five finalists of the AI Challenge.
